M.Cunha is an enterprise founded in 1958, in Penafiel, by Manuel da Cunha. It started as a modest establishment that served as a backup platform to the distribution of grocery products throughout Alto Douro, Trás-os-Montes and Beira Interior.
In 1977 the enterprise changes its facilities, but stays loyal to the land that saw it grow and to its business approach.
In 1992, after the incorporation of the three founder’s sons as administrators, M.Cunha deci- ded to change his commercial strategy by betting on the cash & carry concept. This enterprise inaugurated the first warehouse with 2500m2 covered area on Penafiel periphery.
Later, on 1995, the Felgueiras warehouse was inaugurated, followed by the opening on Leiria in 1998, Vila Real in 2000, Paços de Ferreira in 2003, Régua in 2009, Ponte de Lima in 2010 and, at last, Barcelos in 2011.
